Return & Refund Policy

Marketplace returns are handled by the vendor or wholesaler who sold the goods. Vendor and wholesaler subscriptions and in-app advertisement purchases are billed by Google Play and the App Store. VoLoMart does not refund those charges.

What this policy covers

This page covers two different situations:

  • Marketplace orders: cancellations and returns of grocery and other physical goods sold by nearby shops, and wholesale orders sold by wholesalers to vendors
  • In-app purchases: refunds and cancellations for vendor or wholesaler subscriptions and in-app advertisement purchases billed by Google Play or the App Store

VoLoMart is a hyperlocal marketplace and technology platform. We help customers discover and order from nearby shops, and we help vendors order from wholesalers. We do not manufacture, store, inspect, or own vendor or wholesaler goods, and we do not operate a returns warehouse.

Part A: Marketplace cancellations and returns

The sale of grocery and other physical products is between you and the selected shop. VoLoMart does not take physical returns.

For customers: cancellations

You may cancel from My Orders in the VoLoMart app before the vendor accepts the order or starts preparing it, subject to the order stage shown in the app. After acceptance, cancellation depends on the vendor and the product type. Perishable food is often not cancellable once preparation has started.

  • Cash on delivery: if the order is cancelled or not delivered, you typically pay nothing
  • Khata (store credit): any credit adjustment is with that vendor

For customers: returns

VoLoMart does not accept returned parcels. Returns, replacements, and shop credit are handled by the vendor who sold the goods.

  • Perishable food, fresh produce, and opened snacks are generally not returnable after delivery, except where the item is spoiled, expired, unsafe, wrong, or not as described
  • Report those issues promptly in the app (order chat or support), with photos if asked
  • Non-perishable or unopened items follow that vendor’s return window if the shop offers one. If the shop does not offer a return window, VoLoMart does not create one

For vendors

You are the seller of your goods. You handle quality, packing, expiry, hygiene, and after-sale issues. You must honour lawful customer remedies for goods that are wrong, damaged, unsafe, or not as described.

Any extra return window for non-perishable items is yours to set. It must match what customers see in your shop. VoLoMart does not take returned stock on your behalf.

For wholesalers

You are the seller on orders from vendors. You handle quality, packing, expiry, hygiene, and after-sale issues for those goods. You must honour lawful remedies for goods that are wrong, damaged, unsafe, or not as described. VoLoMart does not take that stock back.

A late or failed handover belongs to the vendor or wholesaler who owns the order, including when a delivery partner that seller added makes the delivery.

What VoLoMart may do

VoLoMart may help you contact the shop, support a grievance, or delist unsafe or non-compliant listings. That is facilitation. It does not make VoLoMart the seller or the party that accepts returns.

Consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable consumer rights that apply under Indian law, including for defective, deficient, or unsafe goods.

Part B: In-app purchase refunds

This section applies to digital in-app purchases billed through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS. That includes vendor and wholesaler subscriptions and in-app advertisement purchases. It does not cover grocery or other physical orders from nearby shops, or wholesale orders between a vendor and a wholesaler.

Who processes the payment

Google Play (Android) and Apple (iOS) collect in-app purchase payments. VoLoMart cannot refund a Google Play or App Store charge from the VoLoMart app, this website, or a bank transfer.

How to request a refund

Request a refund from the store that charged you. Google or Apple decides the outcome under their own refund rules. VoLoMart does not refund in-app purchases except where Google Play, the App Store, or applicable law requires it.

Google Play (Android)

  • Open the Google Play Store app
  • Tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history
  • Select the VoLoMart purchase and request a refund
  • You can also follow Google’s help article: Request a refund on Google Play

App Store (iOS)

  • Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase
  • Or open Settings, tap your Apple ID, then Media & Purchases or Purchase History, and report the VoLoMart charge
  • Apple reviews in-app purchase refund requests under its own policy

How to cancel auto-renew

Cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal. It is not a refund of the current paid period. Access typically continues until that period ends.

  • Android: Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → VoLoMart → Cancel
  • iOS: Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → VoLoMart → Cancel

After a store refund

If Google Play or Apple grants a refund, VoLoMart may expire or limit the related paid feature, such as subscription access or an advertisement booking tied to that purchase.
